The great political Debate

I know this is abit deep, but politics is also one of my favorite topics, maybe one day i should form my own party. : - )

With the recent political upheaval around the world, it is most interesting to observe the different effect certain political system have on the country. Is there truly a great political system ? Democracy, dictatorship, monarchy, communism, Military junta or socialism

Well sad to say there is no one perfect system, because the overruling factor is always the people that govern the country. Indonesia, Malaysia, Zimbabwe, Thailand is a case of failed democracy where corruption and inefficient government is rife in the country. Vote buying is common and accepted.

Is democracy a good form of government, well case in point is Iraq. Was it a country ready for democracy, where terrorism and sectarian violence is common ? A democratic government may not be the best form of government because the basic foundation of human rights, and social system is not even in its infancy. Sometimes like what my professor used to say, sometimes to build a country, we need to allow certain forms of government and policy though on the surface may contravene the simple human rights issue but maybe what he coined a "necessary evil".

One good example is Singapore, if you were to read Lee Kuan Yees Memoirs, he proceeded to eradicate the communist, and any elements that was deem detrimental to the growth of the new Singapore. Though viewed by some quarters as being too high handed. Mr Lee said in his book that it was necessary to ensure the peace and future tranquility of the now prosperous Singapore. There are still elements of opposition by some minority of people, but you cannot say that the government did not make sure they took care of the well being of Singaporeans.

The fact of life is this, every country, every company, every church denominations, every group is not defined by the the style, system and workings of the management, but by the very people that ran it.

Which is the best ran country, best company or the best church, well its the answer for all ages, it depends on who ran it and the philosophy they bring to the system. A dynasty was only as good as their current emperor, good emperor brings prosperity, bad emperor brings destruction.
So the key is this before we proceed to change the world, we must first change ourselves, for we are the one that will determine the future.
